Bags

I made this bag for my friend for her birthday.  It's based on the Wonder Woman logo. It's made from cotton fabric with a calico lining. June 2018.

I needed a camera bag for my newly acquired digital SLR.  Made from thick printed leather, thin green leather, magnetic closure and cotton strapping. Lined with quilted cotton. July 2018 blog.

This bag was designed and made for the Sew Your Style 2018 competition.  It's made mainly in leather with a webbing strap, metal fittings and cotton lining. It is detailed in the May and June 2018 blog pages.

Blue Demon Bag, I got the glass eyes to make creature bags and book covers, this is my first attempt. 2017

This bag was for my other colleague who left at the same time.  She is a quieter more arty person, I based the tree on a Klimt painting. 2017

A cool bag I made for a friend for her birthday, she likes alternative and gothic things.  Its made with an Alexander Henry remnant, cotton coutil and plain black cotton for the outer.  It's lined with regular and thermal wadding and fabric and plastic shower curtain. 2017

A ginger bread man felt gift bag for my mum for Christmas. 2016

A camera bag made from an off-cut of purple leather with great fittings from a German website.  Its padded and lined with suede. 2015

Beetle Bag, for my gothic friend. It's stitched and riveted black leather.  The chains can be moved about to be a backpack or shoulder bag, 2012

This bag is made from the sleeve of a kimono that I got on Ebay. I stiffened the silk with a layer of cotton fixed with iron on glue and made the base with coutil. It has large eyelets for the drawstring. 2011

I made this bag for our line manager when she moved on.  The design is from Indian henna designs.  I think the pink leather was given to me. 2010

I got the red leather at an stitching show, just an off-cut.  I had planned to make a coat with Italian quilting and used this bag as a test for the technique.  The design is based on Maori patterns.  I love the bag but I didn't think the technique would have worked for a coat. 2009

A camera bag made of very thick cow hide, I punched holes to stitch it as it was too thick to sew. The fittings were from a dive shop. 2007

This bag was made for a work friend when we all left our posts.  I took inspiration from the saris she wears to parties and events.  The flowers came from henna tattoo designs and I added lots of colour and some metallic leathers. 2017

I made this tote bag for my mums birthday.  She was in the navy before I was born and the signal flags spell her name.  it's made with coloured silk on a denim background. 2017

This is a small felt gift bag I made for a friend for Christmas, she likes hearts and purple. 2016

I made this for an old friend for her 50th birthday.  It has a beaded dragonfly panel that I made set into the suede. I used a curtain tieback for a strap as nothing else matched. 2016

I made this for my mum one mothers day. The tweed was a skirt from a charity shop, the lining was a remnant. The inside is divided into sections that zip together. 2015

I'd seen a bag made of belts on the internet and made one for myself with charity shop belts, very hard to find. It turned out pretty well but it's a bit heavy. 2011

This handbag was made for someone who left work.  Its made with suede from a pair of charity shop trousers and patterned leather from swatches bought online. 2011

I bought the hair on leather from Ebay as I loved the pattern.  I made the bag for the girlfriend of a friend, she was unusual and interested fashion and one of the few people who wouldn't be creeped out by the hair. 2010

I made this as a Christmas gift for a friend who loves pockets. I was really pleased with the pockets on the front. 2008
